OUR BERNEDALE KENNEL KITCHEN
Our Bernedale Saints are first and foremost, members of OUR FAMILY!
Yes we have kennels, however they are rarely kennelled, all are happy to run and live together.
When our girls are in season, to our boys dismay they are confined to kennel living until time has passed for them to be safely reunited with their pack.
Once again, all gates are left open and they are all free to roam wherever they choose, which is usually all lying togrther in a big Saintly clump.
At night they all eat in respective kennel runs, as their diets may differ.
We are fortunate to have a very functional kennel kitchen, pictured above and more pics below, which makes it easy for us to cater for all their dietary needs.
All kennel runs have fans running 24 x 7 and in the warm Summer months they all come inside during the day and live in air conditioning.
We also have an 8 berth air condtioned trailer for them to travel in if we go away for shows or for holidays.
All our Saints have both indoor and outdoor times, so all are very relaxed and well mannered when inside our home.
Much as we take great pride in their grooming and cleanliness when competing in the show ring, at home they all get to live their lives like normal family companions, they get dirty, they roll in mud, they dig holes and they play and have fun.
All our adults are fully desexed after breeding, to ensure their health and longevity as best as possible.
We do not breed to cater just for a pet market, but only when we want something from a particular sire and dam ourselves, therefore we will not breed from any Saint if we suspect progeny may have ongoing health problems.
All our Bernedale Saints that are used in our breeding program are epilepsy free, both hip and elbow scored, then graded, and all are DNA profiled.
As we breed only when we want something to keep for ourselves, we endeavour to only use outside stud dogs that are also free from genetic health issues in our breeding program. Sadly however, some people are not always truthful.
Temperament is imperative to us, as we have 10 grandchildren aged between 2 and 10 years, including one who has lived with us since he was 1 year old.
Puppies are sometimes available.
